Hydroseeding is an alternative to the traditional process of spreading or sowing dry seed. Seed is suspended in a nutrient rich slurry, and water contact triggers the germination cycle. A mulch layer seals in moisture and holds the soil in place. This creates the proper conditions to produce a lush green lawn in a short time with mulch, seed, and fertilizer evenly distributed in the sprayed material.
Hydroseeding can also be used on steep slopes along roads. Hydroseeding helps cut labor costs when seeding large areas. The ground is prepared in the same way as traditional seeding prior to seed spraying.
Our Hydroseeding Services Include:
- Removing existing grass and weeds, if necessary.
- Finish grading to create a smooth surface and excellent drainage.
- Topsoil or compost may be added, if desired.
- Soil preparation including pulverizing, raking, and rock pick-up to create a good, stable seed surface.
- Seed with fertilizer is hydraulically sprayed through a hydroseeder.
- Then straw is applied after seeding.
- Hydro-mulch tackifier (glue) is then applied over the straw with a hydroseeder to help stabilize the straw.
- There are also many different hydro mulch products that can be chosen in place of straw.
